FREME KWAME, MEANING - “CALL ME KWAME”. IN THE AKAN LANGUAGE
Hi, my name is Osei Kwame, a 36 year old freelance storyteller based in Utrecht, Netherlands. I worked for 8 years in Radio and Events after which I begun my freelance Film, Voiceover and Digital Content Creation journey. What fuels my passion for storytelling is limitlessness of this art to create real change and preserve fleeting moments in the most challenging but fun way. I love traveling, daydreaming and FOOD!
My Career
I’ve always been passionate about storytelling, which inspired me to pursue further education in Marketing with CIM-UK from 2009 to 2011. My love for radio led me to explore the craft at the Radio and Broadcasting Development Foundation (Rabodef) in Accra. In 2012, I began my professional radio journey at Atlantis Radio, hosting the Evening Drive from 3 PM to 6 PM on weekdays.
In 2013, I joined Citi FM, one of Ghana’s leading English-speaking radio stations. Over the next six years, I served as an Events Executive and hosted the Mid-Morning Show. I also co-hosted the Evening Drive for a year.
As my storytelling evolved, I developed a strong interest in photography and film. This passion took shape during the summer school program Filmmakers for Beginners at the University of the Arts Utrecht, where I honed my skills and laid the foundation for my career as a filmmaker and freelance storyteller.
